American Christmas decoration signifies the festivity celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ according to the Christian calendar. The American Christmas decorations give Christmas the significant that it deserves in the American tradition. The decorations go way back in the 1870s as a result of imports from European countries.
It was as a result of shipments that looked fancy into the American soil. Later the shipment was quickly sold in the Christmas stores and what followed was a high demand for the glass ornaments. The evolution of Christmas and the decorations in America was finally full-blown as a result of the publication by Charles Dudley in the 1884 Christmas season.
Americans have been known to be very aggressive when it comes to anything to do with Christmas decorations. It is not only the Christmas tree that they concentrate on; they also tend to concentrate on the street decorations. An example of American Christmas decorations on the streets is in New York where apart from the huge Christmas tree that is erected outside the mayor's chamber, there are also some forms of lighting that are placed throughout the streets. House roofs are also decorated in order for the ancient belief of the Santa clause dropping through the chimney to bring in gifts to come true.
Because of the large role that the Americans have played in evolving Christmas to what it used to be, many people tend to have fond memories of the previous Christmas basically because of the decorations and hype that came with it. What mostly makes the American Christmas look unique is the rich culture of Christianity mostly from the Jewish community who migrated there many years ago.
